Recently Colors Kannada (previously
ETV Kannada) is rebranded and became the top Kannada regional entertainment
channel in Karnataka as per the latest BARC data.
Whereas TV18 broadcast-owned
channel has reached close to 1.5 times more viewership in comparison to its
nearest competitor Suvarna, and acquiring
a 32.9 percent relative share in the overall Karnataka market.
Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL)’s Kannada GEC Zee Kannada
is on the third place with 276 GRPs, while Sun TV Network’s Udaya TV is positioned at number 4 with
255 GRPs. Lastly Suvarna Plus, Star
India’s second Kannada GEC, clocked 97 GRPs or a 6.9 percent market share.
As per the valid sources, Colors Kannada recently donned a new brand
identity with the tagline Onde Sambandha, Ade Anubandha.
The channel privileges that its programming leads in both fiction and
nonfiction, and six out of the top 10 shows in the market are of Colors
Kannada. During the week under review, the channel clocked 314 GRPs from
fiction programming, 130 GRPs from nonfiction, and 15 GRPs from films.
